Pollinator Garden Cook Library
In an effort to Bee-u-tify downtown Libertyville, the Town & Country Garden Club of Libertyville proposed to convert an underused bed (extending from the north entrance of Cook Library alongside the approach sidewalk) into a Pollinator Pocket Garden.
Pollinator pocket gardens play a vital role in supporting bees, butterflies, and other pollinators essential to our food supply and ecosystem health. Even small garden spaces provide critical habitat and food sources in areas where natural habitats have been lost to development. These gardens increase biodiversity, helping to create a healthier, more resilient environment. When planted throughout a community, pocket gardens form a network of safe havens that allow pollinators to move and thrive. Beyond their ecological value, they also engage residents, beautify public spaces, and foster a shared sense of environmental stewardship.
The Library accepted our proposal and on May 28, 2025, our crew installed the bed.
